UT fans...what happened?

Although they have the same amount of wins, which is nothing for either to brag about, Oakland has actually gotten worse offensively since Kiffin was fired and Cable was placed as the HC. Oakland now averages 4 fewer points a game and 50 less yards a game since the change last year. To argue that Oakland is better off is laughable at this point.

Not to mention their franchise player Russell has gotten worse instead of better. They are barely getting any production out of any of their recent first round picks of Russell, Mcfadden, and Heyward-Bey.

That may be true, but they could probbaly win at UT with what Kiffin has to work with...It's not like he doesn't have any players who were blue chippers out of HS. Funny thing is that Gruden won in Oakland with the same organization, and I don't think you guys would include him with the greatest coaches ever...but eventually you'll all come to the conclusion that Kiffin sucks a$$, maybe it'll just take a few mediocre seasons everywhere he goes...and enough drama for a clique of HS girls.

Al Davis also gave Gruden some time to coach his team and make them better. Davis didn't like what Gruden did either though, traded him and ended up getting beat by him in the Superbowl. They got alot of picks for Gruden, but I'm having a hard time seeing that they used them well since their record has been so awful since then.

I'm telling ya, judging Kiffin on anything that happened in Oakland is dumb. That is the place where coaching and playing careers go to die.

I really think you are in over your head with this one. Gruden was 8-8 both of his 1st two seasons in Oakland (he inherited a team that had a combined record of 19-29 in the 3 seasons before Gruden got there, and 4-12 the year before he arrived)...so Davis didn't give him any leeway. And he was 12 games over .500 in 4 seasons in Oakland. Plus, Davis traded him for two 1st rounders...who wouldn't trade a coach for that? Dallas essentially traded Parcells for 2 years with TO...so what's worse?

So is Gruden just a HOF coach that can turn any franchise around..or is he merely average? And like I said before, Kiffin sucks balls.

Grudens a pretty dang good coach. I enjoy listening to him do the broadcasts of Monday night games as well so far.

The problem with trading a coach for two 1st round picks is when you replace him with a terrible coach and make even worse decisions with your first rounds picks. That is when it is stupid to do.

I agree about listening to Gruden doing Monday Night Football, he is good. You can tell he gets excited and would like to say more than he does. I think it kills Jaws for him to be on there because normally Jaws is the go to guy when talking about football because you have had Miller and Kornhieser on there the last few years and they were just fill ins really that contributed every now and then. Gruden wants to talk about every play and Jaws can barely get a word in edge wise.

When he signed late? You can't blame that on Kiffin. Facts are facts though, he has gotten worse not better since Kiffin's departure.

And what Stripes said about replacing them with a worse coach, and not picking well at all is exactly what I'm getting at. Nobody is going to do good in Oakland until Davis is done. You can't blame Kiffin for what went on in Oakland, especially when he was only given 16 or so games. Didn't they also have the number one overall pick when he was hired, meaning they were the worst team? I mean honestly Suprbeast, I'm ready to hear your exact reasoning as to why he sucks. So far, you haven't made me see anything except for the fact that you hate him and you aren't looking past that at all.

You cant say that Russell has gotten worse since Kiffin left.

Kiffin coached 4 games in 2008, Russell had his best statistical chunk the last 12 games of 2008.

Going by stats, he got better when Kiffin initally left.

It was Kiffin's offense he played in, and Kiffin's coaching from the time he was there.

A full year without that, and now he's worse.
